Exchange memories

The exchange between Belgium and Spain I found a way good and happy, to know different cultures.
Being my first exchange I have know new things like home habits, lunch times, ultimately different ways of living and very different form our.
All the sites we have visited I have really enjoyed specialy Brujas, because all monuments are impressive when we left, we were sad because we had become good friends, the language was never been a problem we maintain contact with then via internet, but they have gone we are all impatient of his arrival in Spain.
When they arrived in Spain we had a great time we show some of our capital Madrid, also Alcalá de Henares and Toledo ( much they liked ).
I miss old of then especially my partner Jovanka and his family.
The contact never lost as I hope that we can see it later....

Many feelings in a short time...

Hello everybody!
It has been a lot of time since  I wrote something in the blog but here I am again
with the intention of sharing some of the memories from the exchange,
which will never dissapear!
When we start something new, we are a little bit affraid and excited at the same time, and it
was the feeling that I had at the beggining of the exchange.
I can perfectly remember when we were at the bus, arriving to Oudenaarde, the way we looked at each
other hoping the others were as nervous as we were.
I was the last one leaving the bus, and at that moment, the firt second that I put my feet on the floor
of this new and unknown country for us, our adventure started.
The Belgians and the Spanish people got on well quickly, without any problem.
And personally, with my partner and  her family things couldn't have gone better.
We have many things in common, we were laughing all the time, we shared everything about our lives,
getting to know each other quite well, enjoying every single moment we spent together and the most important thing:
all the exchange people were LEARNING from each other, about another culture, another way of living, and a different way og thinking...and we really nice people!
We also had the opportunity of visiting beautiful places with amazing scenery.
We spent  ten days in Belgium, but they spent only seven days in Spain so we didn't stop doing things!
We went to visit Toledo and Madrid, we had a lot of free time for us,
to show them how is our way of having fun and the places we usually go at the weekends and we also organised a birthday party for two of the Belgian girls (including mi hostsister).
Because of that we wanted them to have a nice day and I hope they had it.
In fact, I could tell you a million things, but you just will understand it when you live one of this incredible
experience for yourself, you'll discover why is so great!
So if you  have the opportunity of doing an exchange..I say you: DON'T MISS THIS
GREAT OPPORTUNITY!
Now I'm happy for have chosen to try it, and I'm sure we'll remember it always.
See you soon...

Remembering

The exchange started with the first email, later, came longer conversations in facebook, and finally Belgium.
There, everything was different, ourrelationship with our partners, with the teachers, society... and we could see a lot of things and places.

In my experience, the exchange was funny and great.
For example here, one day we met with others two peers, and they cooked  Belgium's food, and we cooked Spanih's food.

I remember one thing very often, because in Spain is almost imposible, we had to go house by house, changing an egg for food.
And finally we met in the school and ate with the food that we had.

I have learned many things with this exchange, but the most important is as the Spanish way of having fun, nowhere.

I miss everything, but specially my partner's sister.

Step by step

Hello everybody! It's been such a long time since I haven'te written anything!
To start with  I want to say thatIi miss every single person in the exchange
and then I want to talk about my personal experience
but not in Belgium, just in Spain.
When I described my way of feeling while we were in Belgium I realised that
the experience wasn't already worthy of writing!
It's to easy to say that everything is perfect when you just have to go there
get on well with your family, and beeing polite, it's not the hardest work!
When they arrived here I was really nervous, I was concerned about Melissa
Every day some different things happened, and I took into account that my responsability
was to make her feel better, THAT WAS THE HARDEST PART!
But,step by step, just little by little, just talking about how things were going, everything went much better
and you know what? after those moments  you can really say that....
THIS EXCHANGE WAS THE BEST EVER!
It was so hard to say goodbye but from my point of view, I prefer it that way because
if it wasn't hard,it wouldn't have been as unforgettable as it was

I hope we can keep in contact with all of our mates and I hope we could see each other someday.

Belgians in Spain !!!

Hello everybody !!!

I'm sorry it has been almost two weeks since the Belgians went back home, but I haven't had any time to update the blog!
You know almost every Spanish exchanger is now in second of Bachillerato, and that's a very difficult year because we have many many things to do..

Anyway, I took a few minutes to write some words for my Belgian friends!!

I think we had a really good time here in our country, and I'm sure they liked it!
Belgians came on September 28th and they went back home on October 5th . I know their stay was shorter but equally intense. During this time we didn't go to school because we wanted to spend all day long with them, showing at least where we live.

We went to Villalbilla parties by our own, because teachers let the weekend free fot us, just to have fun as we young people do, with music and many people dancing!
One day we visited Toledo and another day we visited Madrid.
Last day our parents prepared a "goodbye party" by cooking their specialities and delicious dishes.

Now I miss them a lot and I'm looking forward to seeing them again!!

Leni and Mieke are now my sisters too, and I'm never going to forget them ...

To sum up

Hello everybody!
I am writing a new coment just to sum up
my general feelings about my experiences in Belgium.
At the very beginning, as in every exchange, it was a little bit hard
because I didn't know the family and sometimes I don't know how to express myself! But my family made me feel very comfortable every single moment! They were all the time asking me if I need anything!

They were the best exchange family ever!
We went to a lot of excursions, for example Gant, Brussels, Brugge or the beach.
I enjoy them very much because we went all together to those excursions.

The worst thing about the project is that we have to wake up very early each morning but, thanks goodness it was for having fun and going somewhere so, in the end, it wasn't so hard!
The best part was that we met many new people with a different way of life, and I am sure that all of us will be friends for a long time!
Specially I want to say that I really like my exchange sister Melissa! She's the best! She was very nice with me and she was all the time doing funny stuff :)
And , to sum up I want to say thank you to Bea and Rose, the teachers that make this project possible!
People from Belgium, see you soon in Spain :)

Week - summary!

Hello everybody!

I'm sorry I haven't had any time to write for a week! We have been busy all the time ...
Let's do a short summary about the week:

25th, Monday: as it was Easter we didn't go to school and I went cycling with Mieke just to have a look of the countryside, where she lives. I just can explain it with one word: AMAZING! If I thought I lived in the countryside, I was mistaken... here they have cows, chickens, sheep.. everything that meant countryside, and I like it too much.
After that, we went cycling for a long time we came home and did personal things until dinner time. We went to a restaurant where Mieke works at the weekend: it was delicious.

26th, Tuesday: First day we went to school. This day we had an excursion to Brugge (Brujas). When we arrived there we had a walk through the town and we saw many beautiful things as the Chocolate museum! It's a beautiful place.
Then we had time to buy some things, had lunch, break time and at five we came home.

27th, Wednesday: We had another excursion, this time to Gant. I found this city very similar to the one we visited the day before, I mean, the same style of houses and so. When we arrived the teachers divided us in two groups. We  were very lucky because we had an amazing guide, she was called Lin.
She took us and showed us the city as if it was a paradise ! I really liked the way she spoke to us and the way she explained  things, with a lot of feeling, believing what she was saying.
Then we went to the bowling and I got a very bad mark.
After that I didn't had too much time to be there because my girl was dancing and I came home early.

28th, Thursday: I didn't like this day too much because it was all the time raining, but we couldn't do anything about it...
Well, this day we went to school and we did some sport games there, just following a kind of route with proofs and MY TEAM WON !! The prize was a bottle os coke, but at the end everybody got it haha. Then we had an presentation about Belgian customs, such as food, fashion, films... presented by the Belgian students.
Later we went to have lunch outside the school and we met in a point to begin the tour through Oudernaarde. There was a guide who told us many things about this place and she was very nice.
Finally I came home with my partner because I was very tired and Mieke went to the opera int he evening.

29th, Friday: This day we went to the capital of Belgium: BRUSSELS. I really liked this city ! But I didn't have too much time to enjoy it... I was coming back at four o'clock because my host sister had to dance and I went to the show to see her.

30th, Saturday: At last!! It was beach day !! We all went to spend the day to the beach to have fun and we stay there until four o'clock. I spend all the time laying in the sand... it was great.
At night we went to a macro-disco. I didn't really like the music but, anyway, I had fun too! Then I went to sleep to Leni's house, the girl with my sister, Marta.

1st, Sunday: Today I haven't slept too much because I was at Leni's home and Mieke had to be at the dance performance at twelve, so I woke up at ten.
I have been all the morning on he computer trying to speak to my parents. Then I had lunch and at five o'clock I went with my host parents to a place where they made kind of little sweets, which are called "luckies". Martine, Mieke's mother, bought a box of those sweets for me.
Then went to the fair, with the rest of the people and I had dinner with the whole family in a restaurant.

Now I'm looking forward tomorrow because I want to go to the goodbye party to see everybody again, but I don't want to leave this incredible experience... Let's keep writing tomorrow!
Bye!

Anni.
